Futura – Clean, Bold, and Geometric
Futura is a classic sans-serif font released in 1928 by the Bauer Type Foundry. It was designed by Paul Renner and inspired by basic shapes like circles, triangles, and squares.
The font reflects the design ideas of the Bauhaus movement. Renner, with help from Bauer’s team, turned his drawings into a functional typeface. Over time, he adjusted the design to improve how easy it is to read.
Futura has long ascenders and descenders, which look best with good line spacing. It comes in many weights and styles, making it ideal for logos, books, posters, and more.
The newer W1G version supports a wide range of languages. This includes most European languages plus Vietnamese, Cyrillic, and Greek.
