Bell MT – Classic Transitional Serif Font
Bell MT is a transitional serif font with deep historical roots. Originally designed in the 1780s by Richard Austin for John Bell’s foundry, the typeface was later revived by Monotype in 1931. The digital version of Bell MT closely mirrors the 18pt metal type, featuring higher contrast in capitals and a distinctive flat-footed ‘a’. Its refined and elegant appearance makes it ideal for editorial design, formal publications, and literary works.
